Fitness trail

Pleased that we have now completed the first of our Morfa Gateway Project Nature for Health Trail apps at The Coed Y Morfa Community Woodland.

This is a very simple 1Km accessible flat terrain walk ideal for somebody just getting back into exercise.

Based around the existing trim trail. We are using smartphone GPS technology to notify the app user of their current location and completion level.

Future bounds will have much more detailed information and be extended to other areas of our locality.

Just some of the points on the first walk.

You can find out more and download the app here.

Thank you

Thank You to the volunteers who helped at our litter pick we are very pleased with our first on site event.

Over Twenty volunteers turned out on a nice day in Prestatyn. With a great cross section of ages from Alex who is 8 months old to well lets say “age is only a number”  🙂

Steve from Artisans Collective says

“Thanks to everyone who turned out for the litter pick yesterday. It was great having local residents join the pick who hadn’t been aware it was happening, but joined in once they saw us on site.
Don’t forget you can also support the Morfa Gateway Project by putting your Tesco tokens in our slot”

Pete added

“What a great day at Morfa Gateway Project a big thanks to everybody that helped.

Our friends at Denbighshire County Council street scene again proving what a great asset they are to our community.

Thanks WendyMark and the rest of the team for your help yet again.

To collect 2 Tonne of litter is mind blowing.”

Litter pick date confirmed as 15th March 2018.

Our postponed St David’s Day litter pick has been rearranged for Thursday 15th March 2018 from 11am onwards.

We are still part of the Spring Clean Cymru Campaign

Due to the weather conditions, event details may change. If there is any doubt about safety we will not go ahead with the event and rearrange it for when the weather is better. All events up to and including 25 March will be part of the #SpringCleanCymru campaign.

Heroes assemble! Be proud of being Welsh this St David’s Day and join us for Spring Clean Cymru 2018 – a nationwide campaign encouraging people across Wales to get together to help clean up our beautiful Cymru!

Kicking off on 1 March (when else?) you’ll have the opportunity to register your own clean-up event, access free resources and information all while doing something really great for Wales.

Part of the Great British Spring Clean, Keep Wales Tidy wants to inspire the people of Wales to get outdoors, to be active and to be proud of where they live.

Ahead of our launch Steve has produced the drawing above.

The idea’s we have are an addition to the excellent work continually carried out the The Prestatyn & District Environmental Association; (P.D.E.A) and Denbighshire County Council Countryside Services.

This project was brought about after conversations with North Wales Police and Artisans Collective of Prestatyn who have already partnered on a number of community projects.

We are very pleased to also have Healthy Prestatyn Iach, Denbighshire County Council Housing onboard as project partners.

The Greggs Foundation and Tesco “Bags of Help” have also helped to fund the project so far.
